Do the Right Thing [Blu-ray] [20th Anniversary]A good movie, with it's only blemish being the launching of Spike Lee's career. Did you find it helpful or unhelpful? Top

Do the Right Thing [Blu-ray] [20th Anniversary]It's a good movie, and yes racism sucks, but as usual black people are the ones blowing everything out of proportion. I still can't believe Spike Lee was the one who made this film. Did you find it helpful or unhelpful? Top

Do the Right Thing [Blu-ray] [20th Anniversary]Spike Lee, for some reason, received a lot of praise for this film. I thought it was a foul-mouthed bore of a movie, whose message got lost in all the cussing. Anyway, by the end of the movie all the characters--black AND white--were all so annoying, I didn't care what happened to any of them. Spike Lee said after the Oscars that year that he was robbed, but I think the only people who got robbed were the ones who paid to see this mess. Did you find it helpful or unhelpful? Top

Do the Right Thing [Blu-ray] [20th Anniversary]Spike Lee is one of the greatest movie directors of all-time. As Ruby said, it was revolutionary and it hasn't aged well. At that brief point in history, the whole "Fight the Power" type of high-energy, action-packed, tension-filled atmosphere expressed by Public Enemy has not really carried over to the 21st century. It is also brilliant, on the other hand, that it captured the spirit of that brief epoch in which race relations was such a hot and controversial issue. Did you find it helpful or unhelpful? Top

Do the Right Thing [Blu-ray] [20th Anniversary]Spike Lee's masterpiece. Vital themes for America. Sense of inevibility builds at the end for the race riot that resolves nothing. Did you find it helpful or unhelpful? Top

Do the Right Thing [Blu-ray] [20th Anniversary]This movie is a work of art. The way it was shot in yellows and blues was great to illustrate the emotions buiding up. It shows how people will kill each other over ignorance. Did you find it helpful or unhelpful? Top

Do the Right Thing [Blu-ray] [20th Anniversary]Spike Lee has a masterpiece here. This movie has comedy, drama, sex, and rap music. I love it! I'd even recommend this one to mom and dad. They might learn something. Did you find it helpful or unhelpful? Top

Do the Right Thing [Blu-ray] [20th Anniversary]Who can ever forget Mooky and Sal, Jade and Buggin' Out, Sweet Dick Willie and ML, Radio Raheem, Pino, Vito, Da Mayor, Mother Sista, LOVE and HATE, and -- best of all -- Lovedaddy keepin it cool on WLUV! This was a revolutionary film when it came out, and that's the double truth, Ruth. Unfortunately, it hasn't aged that well. As good as "Fight the Power" still sounds, the cartoonish us vs. them racial squabbling sounds pretty irrelevant in year 2000. That's a good thing, but it undermines incindiary directors like Spike Lee, whose work really seems dated, forever attached to a brief moment in time when the revolutionary rhetoric of Public Enemy actually seemed grounded in reality. That's no longer the case. Did you find it helpful or unhelpful? TopAdvertisement

Do the Right Thing [Blu-ray] [20th Anniversary]
Best film about Racism I've seen because it doesn't offer any solution or message to it but just depicts how it comes about and how we deal with it.
