Apollo 13 Canadian; Universal 100th Anniversary DVDi normally dont like movies about space and such but i did this one. it pulls you in until the very end. i really didnt know about this part of our history but this movie sparked my interest into learning more Did you find it helpful or unhelpful? Apollo 13 Canadian; Universal 100th Anniversary DVDPossibly Ron Howard's best "serious" film (I have a soft spot for his comedies and fantasies--Night Shift, Splash and Cocoon, his first three movies that are my favorites of his). The period detail in this movie is wonderful and the story is riveting. Even though we know the outcome, it's classic suspense. Did you find it helpful or unhelpful? Top

This is not what I would characterize as a great movie, which I reserve for those movies at the very top of the list for various reasons, but its not too far behind. Apollo 13 Canadian; Universal 100th Anniversary DVDI will watch this movie whenever it is on television. I have the DVD and the VCR tape! Having been a space buff from the time I was a little child, I just love evrything about this movie. I have read numerous articles and books about the space program, even had a set of the mission reports from N.A.S.A. at one time. This movie is pretty accurate from what I can tell. Apollo 13 Canadian; Universal 100th Anniversary DVDA very enjoyable film. I thought it dragged on at times, and found myself sometimes staring at the wall while the movie was playing, but all in all, it was entertaining and very informative. The filmmakers did a good job of showcasing the realties of space and the risks that are involved in going there. Great performances as usual by all the actors in this film. Apollo 13 Canadian; Universal 100th Anniversary DVDOUTSTANDING !!!! Ron Howard really did his homework on this one. The story is well written and the actual facts are as damn close to the truth as possible in hollywood. The use of actual props and NASA footage made this movie a real look into history.I think the intent was to inform you more than entertain you, and this movie did bolth.To say this movie was boring, three guys floating around in a broken tin can shows the lack of inteligence in that particular viewer. The story of Apollo 13 is true, it happened, it is an important date in areospace history and this movie portraies it well Did you find it helpful or unhelpful? Top

It is one of the best protrayals of actual American history I have ever seen, and it really brings out some of the work necessary to bring about the greatest technological achievement of all time, and the amount of danger in which the astronauts could easily find themselves. When Tom Hanks made his series on the Apollo missions, his Apollo thirteen episode concentrates on aspects separate from those portrayed in this movie, which allows this movie to become a working part of the series. The work of Kevin Bacon and Gary Sinise brings out some of the greatness of this film, while Tom Hanks easily portrays the pain of aborting a lunar landing. If you haven't seen it, you should. Apollo 13 Canadian; Universal 100th Anniversary DVDThe fact that Ron Howard directed this may attract viewers, but it will only leave them cuonfused and bored out of their minds. Apollo 13 is the story of 3 astronauts whpo go into outer space, but their spaceship breaks down and leaves them out there, stranded without their families.
