Lewis's enchanting story with this long-awaited Disney adaptation. As the story begins, Mrs. Pevensie--in order to keep her children safe during World War II--sends Lucy (Georgie Henley), Edmond (Skandar Keynes), Susan (Anna Popplewell), and Peter (William Moseley) off to stay at a professor's country estate. Away from London and under the care of a strict housekeeper, they are instructed to stick to themselves and stay out of trouble. But when an innocent game of hide-and-seek leads young Lucy to a spare room containing a large wardrobe, she discovers something that will change their lives forever. Inside the wardrobe there is a world frosted with ice and filled with magical beings. Known as Narnia, the land is stuck in eternal winter at the hands of the cruel White Witch, played with great force by the pale, strong-featured Tilda Swinton. When she steps back into reality, Lucy struggles to convince her skeptical siblings of the things she's seen. After much disbelief, the others finally enter the world as well, learning that the creatures of Narnia have long been waiting for humans like themselves to appear and break the witch's spell. But in order to be of any help to the lovable talking beavers, fawns, foxes, and centaurs that they meet, the four will have to face betrayal by one of their own as Edmond cracks under the witch's tempting offer of unlimited Turkish Delights. Under the leadership of the great lion Aslan (voice of Liam Neeson), can Lucy, Edmond, Susan, and the oldest, Peter, prove themselves heroes in the ultimate battle of good vs. evil? High-budget special effects, impressive performances by the film's young newcomers, and beautiful set design move this film far beyond previous television adaptations. The Chronicles of Narnia: The Lion, The Witch, and...There's nothing like watching a horde of animals charging like some organized army against another massive grouping of other animals armed to the teeth/fang or whatever they have in their mouths/bills, etc. There is action, fantasy, imagination, and actually a story. This is a well-rounded tale, that appeals to the young, as well as the young at heart. Fantasy is a very broad genre, where it can...

The Chronicles of Narnia: The Lion, The Witch, and...I didn't think much of this film at all. It was horribly over-rated and I too have read the books so was disappointed with the end result. This movie lacked soul, it was just about the special effects and even that wasn't impressive enough to save this movie.

The Chronicles of Narnia: The Lion, The Witch, and...Beautiful artwork, scenery and costumes. But that's about it. Wasn't ever really into this type of fantasy. I'm a JRR Tolkien fan - as well as a JK Rowling Fan.

The Chronicles of Narnia: The Lion, The Witch, and...I had to watch this crap on an aeroplane. Its just a flipping rip-off of Lord Of The Rings if Frodo went to a Zoo.

The Chronicles of Narnia: The Lion, The Witch, and...Windy and overblown, but still a step up from the dreadful Potter movies, or the horrific English version of this done several years ago.

The Chronicles of Narnia: The Lion, The Witch, and...I loved the book when I was younger but I pictured several things differently than they were shown in the movie. That usually goes for the people that are fans of books first.

The Chronicles of Narnia: The Lion, The Witch, and...Beautifully presented if slightly dry story telling. Did we ever feel like the children were in any real danger and that they wouldn't learn to be better people from their experience? Limony Snicket is much more engaging.

Great PictureStrengths: Special effects were outstanding Weakness: Could be a little long for very young This is a great way to present C. S. Lewis outstanding writings. I think anyone would enjoy this film because the content highly expectable for any age or background. This is a fast pace movie that doesn’t linger at any point, and will keep you interested. The young actors do a terrific job presenting their rolls Advertisement

The Chronicles of Narnia: The Lion, The Witch, and...
A nice, fantasy story with a implied biblical teaching. Special effects acceptably good. C.S. Louis's greatest children story.
