Product Details of Transformers [HD DVD] [2-Disc Special Edition]

Description

Based on the Hasbro toy line that initially captivated kids in the 1980s, director Michael Bay's TRANSFORMERS finds two warring bands of shape-shifting alien robots renewing their intergalactic conflict on Earth. While the Decepticons, followers of the malevolent Megatron (voiced by Hugo Weaving), strive to take over the planet, the Autobots, led by the valiant Optimus Prime (voiced by Peter Cullen), are intent on protecting humanity. When young Sam Witwicky (Shia LaBeouf) discovers that his new car is really the Autobot Bumblebee (voiced by Mark Ryan), it sets the stage for a massive giant-robot showdown. A shining example of the Hollywood summer blockbuster at its best, TRANSFORMERS combines stunning CGI effects and thrilling action sequences with drama, humor, and a touch of romance. Featuring a large cast that includes Josh Duhamel, Tyrese Gibson, Jon Voight, John Turturro, Anthony Anderson, and Rachael Taylor, the film is anchored by LaBeouf, who always displays an engaging Everyman charm, whether he's running from colossal robots, interacting with his well-meaning parents (hilariously played by Kevin Dunn and Julie White), or pining for his gorgeous classmate (Megan Fox). While some TRANSFORMERS purists may be dismayed by certain aspects of this bold big-screen adaptation (Bumblebee is a Camaro instead of a Volkswagen), the movie balances its spectacle with an admirable amount of substance, giving it an appeal far beyond pre-teen boys and their nostalgic Autobot-loving elders.

Low Price HD-DVD

Strengths: 1080P for less than price of regular DVD and Blu-Ray; Great special effects; lastly: MORGAN FOX!

Weakness: Defunct technology; Must have proper equipment to enjoy

Well so now with HD-DVD technology officially dead, prices for movies can be had for less than Blu-Ray and DVD. Quality wise this is on par with Blu-Ray. It makes no sense to pay for the same movie at 2-3 times more. Transformer was another enjoyable popcorn flix. If you grew up in the 80's and expect a direct translation from the cartoon, be ready for a surprise. Autobots and Decepticons have...

Awesome Movie, great for fans of Tranformers fame....

Strengths: Visuals look great. I like the action scenes. Nice cars.

Weakness: story line was okay.

IMO looks like just like the blu-ray. Great movie. Can't wait for the sequel. Hopefully they will have a better story line this time around.

Excellent Movie

Strengths: Great graphics, crystal clear in HD, good cast, well done.

Weakness: Too much focus on humans and not enough on Transformers.

Transformers was a well written action packed movie suitable for the younger audience. I enjoyed the good graphics in the movie along with the nostalgia brought back by the actual transformers themselves. The movie does not hold a candle to the bigger titles, such as The Dark Knight, but it rises well above The Hulk & Superman (if that's saying much). Definitely worth taking the time to see, even...

Transformers (2007)

Strengths: Action packed with great special effects. I loved it. Shia LaBeouf's comedy makes this entertaining and Megan Fox makes it a great eye candy.

Weakness: Not much, just thought for 2nd in command Jazz died way too fast.

This is one of the best Sci-fi movie out there, thus the reason why I bought HD-DVD version. I know there will be Transformers 2 or more, the box office figures and the ending of the movie where Starscream left Earth guaranty it. I can honestly say I can not wait.

well not that good

Strengths: great fx's

Weakness: content,acting, storie line

the best thing about this movie was the fx's and the transformers themselves. they kill of all the bad guys. i am guessing no sequal. poor acting at best by all the main people. they would have done better by sticking with the origal story line.

Best Action Movie in Years

Strengths: Non stop action. Awesome special effects. Plenty of details.

Weakness: Some of the human acting a bit hokey. The DVD itself does not have many extras on it. Special Edition coming perhaps?

This is one of the best action movies that I have seen in years. I admit I watched the cartoon as a kid and loved it, and wasn't sure what to expect from this movie, but it was outstanding non-stop entertainment.

Transformers

While believable characters are hard to come by in Transformers, the effects are staggering and the action is exhilarating.
